L2: Trauma-Sensitive Skilled Practitioner
Trauma-sensitive research skills are becoming more important as researchers encounter complex and emotional situations. This training provides practical tools to manage these challenges confidently and create safe environments for all involved.

This training runs on Thursdays from 4 pm to 6 pm, with a maximum of 12 participants per group. If you’re interested in joining, follow these three steps:

Modules: Our Seven-Week Programme
Module 1: Learn About Trauma-Informed Theories
Recognise and understand trauma reactions in research.
Module 2: Prepare and Start Supervision
Create effective guides and know when to begin supervision.
Module 3: Recruit Participants
Learn how to apply a trauma-sensitive approach to participant recruitment.
Module 4: Skills Practice 1 – Contract with Participants
Establish safe and clear contracts for research.
Module 5: Skills Practice 2 – Interrupt the Trauma Narrative
Learn how to interrupt the trauma narrative effectively.
Module 6: Skills Practice 3 – Regulate Stress
Practice how to help participants to regulate when they are overwhelmed.
Module 7: Follow up with Post-Session Support
Offer effective follow-up care and debriefing after sessions.

The Fine Print: Format & Fees
All sessions are conducted online via Google Meet. The fees are:
- Non-refundable deposit upon acceptance: £100
- Remaining balance due before course start: £450
- Total Fees: £550
If you are currently out of work or on a lower income, please let us know. We have a few pro-bono and pay-what-you-can spaces available for those who cannot afford the full fee.
